RubbishTalk: Will You Be Forced To Up-Cycle?

Considering this theory:
I was thinking again, and this gets quit dangerous when that happens, but I thought to myself this:

" we are all going to be forced to up cycle eventually."

This theory crossed my mind because, because of the fact that we are already adjusting  for more elbowroom  for our current circulating trash, and are now we are expanding!
So lets ponder about this for just a moment:
  •  Population is at :311,591,917 as of July 2011
  •  How fast is the world's population growing?
In terms of net gain (births minus deaths), we are adding over 200,000 people to this planet every day, or 140 EVERY MINUTE. That equates to 70 million more people every year, about the same as the combined population of California, Texas, and New York. Although we have made encouraging progress in slowing the growth rate, any rate of growth is unsustainable in the long term,  so we must stabilize population soon for the good of future generations.
  • How much rubbish do we produce?

America produces an absolutely gargantuan amount of trash -- so much that it's difficult to picture. But here's a shot: According to estimates from the Environmental Protection Agency, in 2008, each person in the United States created a daily average of 4.5 pounds (2.04 kilograms) of solid waste [source: EPA]. Since there were roughly 300 million people living in America at the time, together, they were generating approximately 1.35 billion pounds (about 612 million kilograms) of garbage every day. To put that estimate in perspective, the average blue whale -- the largest mammal on the planet -- can weigh more than 100 tons (99,800 kilograms) [source: American Cetacean Society]. Assuming we are dealing with only modestly sized, 100-ton specimens, the United States throws away about 6,750 blue whales worth of garbage every single day.  Info from discovery channels:planet green
So with the amount of people and the amount of rubbish we produce we are going to be sitting on toxic communities before to long....
We are totally blind to the full effect that trash will have on our America in the near future.
The effects are already showing: politicians are paid to sign off on illegal dumping and waste site constantly, and not only does this effect the empty handed but,the up-town citizens of wealthy communities. Can you imagine five hundred thousand dollar homes with toxic landfills in there backyards, it is already happening!

Jerry Lawson from NewsFlavor makes an interesting statement Your Backyard Should be a Landfill.

-Should we be responsible for our own trash?

-Would it really change how much rubbish we produce?

-Would it teach everyone the practical use of up-cycling?

- I wonder how as a nation it would change our lives?

OK, back to my thought...
I would consider the theory that at some point we as Americans will have to up-cycle and  for the simple fact that it will be trash or treasure for us. What do I mean? I mean we will be sitting on top of a trash pile or we will be utilizing it and that will in-turn force most to up-cycle.

I guess we will have to see what the future holds for our youthful little country.
Sometimes I wonder what makes us think we have advanced so much when we cant even solve a problem such as trash.
Talk to you later <3 Shana
